Starting with the 21st Tejano Music Awards, a NEW Award was added to the ceremony in memory of Selena called "The Selena Lifetime Achievement Award".  Her brother, A.B. Quintanilla was the first recipient. This Award was presented to him by Texas Governor Rick Perry.
