Remembering Selena Quintanilla Perez

Comments:
I learned about Selena in 1992. My husband and I had a 6 year old daughter and 1 year old son. I hired a live-in Nanny, who was from Chihuahua, Mexico. Magaly loved Selena. She would play all of her songs, and my children (African American, who are 29 and 24 today) still remember the lyrics; both Spanish and English.

When Selena was killed, my entire household mourned. I remember hearing Magaly screaming, "No, not Selena!" Today, I watch the movie at least once a week. I pray for a different ending. :!cry:

As a little girl I always dressed and danced around the house to Selena's music. My father even has home videos of me singing and dancing like I was doing my own concert to Selena. We had the special bond that Selena and her father had as well and since he lives in FL, he says that he just puts the movie on and my videos to just remember of the little girl I used to be. Im 22 now lol. I forever will love Selena, she was a role model growing up and still to this day you can catch me dancing bidi bidi bom bom in my room. One day I hope to visit the Selena Museum and see all the things that made her. :D

I love Selena. I always have. I am not Mexican, although people always assume that I am because I am Native American. She was so beautiful, talented and spirited. I will never, ever forget her.
